Hands-on AI workshop · San Diego

An AI workshop your team will actually use on Monday

Half a day. Your team's real work. Three AI workflows built in the room, not a slideshow about what AI might do someday. On-site in San Diego or virtual.

Free scoping call. No obligation.

Led by David Shapiro Former CMO & SVP, Neil Patel Digital San Diego based since 2008

Most AI training is a talk. Someone shows a few impressive demos, everyone nods, and two weeks later nothing has changed because nobody practiced on their own work. This workshop is built the opposite way. Your team brings the reports, spreadsheets, and emails it already deals with, and spends the time turning that work into AI workflows it keeps.

By the end of the session each person has built three things on their own job and saved the prompts to reuse. The goal is simple: the Monday after the workshop should look different from the Friday before it.

What happens in the room

First hour

Set the ground rules

We start with what these tools are good and bad at, and where your data can and cannot go. Everyone gets the same mental model before anyone touches a prompt.

Lab 1

Turn a spreadsheet into decisions

Your team takes a real report it works with every month and learns to pull out specific numbers, a clear so-what, and a recommended action. Not a summary. A decision.

Lab 2

Draft a real deliverable

Using a past document the team is proud of as the pattern, AI drafts the next one in the same voice and structure with new numbers. Reports, proposals, client updates, board memos.

Lab 3

Kill a repetitive task

That monthly file-splitting, email-drafting, report-formatting chore that eats hours gets automated in the room, with a check step so the team can trust the output.

Last 30 minutes

Lock it in

Everyone saves their working prompts into a shared library, and we pick the two workflows each person will use first. You leave with a plan, not just notes.

Every lab runs on the same repeatable method, context then pattern then task. Read it first if you want: the three-part prompt pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions About AI Training in San Diego

What should the team bring to the workshop?

One real, recurring piece of work each: a monthly report, a spreadsheet, a deliverable they redo often, or an email they write again and again. The session runs on your actual files, with sample or anonymized versions for anything sensitive.

How long is a workshop and how big should the group be?

A half day (about four hours) is the standard format. Eight to twenty people works best, small enough that everyone builds something with feedback, large enough to spread the habits across a team. Larger groups run as two cohorts.

Do you run workshops on-site or virtual?

Both. On-site across San Diego County in your own conference room, or virtual over video with the same hands-on lab format and screen-share pair work for distributed teams.

Which AI tools does the workshop cover?

ChatGPT and Claude, plus Microsoft Copilot if your company already pays for it. The framework taught works across all of them, so your team is not stuck when models change.

Who is a workshop not a good fit for?

If you want a passive lecture or a slide deck to forward around, this is not it. The value comes from people doing the work in the room. Teams that send one observer instead of participating get the least out of it.
